Our history illustrates how the Coop Meeting Centre has come to be one of the leading addresses for meetings, seminars and conferences.
In 1923 Dr Bernhard Jäggi, who was part of the management of Verband Schweizerischer Konsumvereine, today's Coop, founded the Training Centre in the form of a foundation. It was intended not just for the professional education and training of the employees of Coop, but to make holistic education and growth available to each person individually in the spirit of Pestalozzi and the Rochdale pioneers.
At the time, both society and the economy were undergoing fundamental change, and new educational content was needed. But even since then, Jäggi's vision has remained the guideline of the training centre: independent human beings who take responsibility for themselves and their surroundings.
The foundation continually expanded its professional activity as a training centre and adapted it to emerging needs, establishing the precondition for training and education that has always been up-to-date.
Over the years, the facilities themselves have also been continuously expanded and modernized, and today, the Coop Meeting Centre is a preferred seminar and meeting location in north-western Switzerland for both internal and external events.
